About the Artist:
More than twenty years ago I began making quilts. After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Michigan, I discovered that putting together pieces of colored, patterned fabric to create a two-dimensional composition with three dimensions – a quilt – was like painting and sculpting combined. Since 1995, it has been my honor and pleasure to have a variety of my quilts selected and exhibited at numerous national and international juried quilt shows across the country from New York to California. (See "Shows and Galleries"). I apply my knowledge of traditional quilting methods, my love of early 20th century Amish quilts, and my training as a fine artist to create colorful, contemporary, and original wall quilts. I've also earned a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan, and enjoy working as a therapist in private practice. Making quilts continues to be a true passion and joy.
